Turtles Turtles Turtles

It has been a mystery on how the loggerhead turtle has been able to mirgate safely without any landmark, but it has been revealed that they use two magnetic methods. First, Turtle have a magnetic cues that detemine the latitude, however not the longitude. It is know that the turtles has developed the angle and stregth of the Earth's magnetic field. Young loggerheads even establish a course as soon as they enter the ocean. It took voyagers many years just to figure out longitude. That is an amazing in itself.

Laser welding

It has been known that it is impossible to fuse teo pieces of transparent plastic together, up until now, scientist have found the right wavelength that has enabled them to do this. The process is quick and simple, there are no clamps, glue or anything of the sorts to keep the components together. In a couple of seconds the laser has made a casing by welding two peiece of plastic together. This process has now made it easier and faster to seam plastic together which would also make it cheaper.

Bee vs. Flowers

Plants are interesting organisms aren't they, even though they can't walk, to make up for it they to where they can have sunlight. They can also make their own food, but the most fascinating thing about plants, particularly flower, they have the ability to create their own toxins that will affect certain organisms while aree harmless to others. Not only can flowers create toxins, but they can also create chemical defences to protect their pollen from bees. Some scientist from Switzerland gathered certain flowers such as a buttercup, wild mustard, and a tansy. Despite giving different types of pollen to different brood of larvae of the mason bee, it was shown that mason bees had a large diet for all kinds of pollen. However plants need that pollen just much as the bees do, mainly to reproduce. But as we all know bees and flowers have a symbiotic relationship, the equilibrium of pollen and bees will eventually level out.

For last weeks post which did not go up:

ElectroMicroscopes are widely used to scientific study as well as medical study. Now scientsi at the NIST( National Institute oof Standard and Technologies) have found a new way to expand the usage of transmission eletron microscopes, by passing through a nanometer-scale grating. Scientist separated them with an outcome of electron waves on the obrital momentum that keeps its corkscrew form.
